Kathleen Conezio, M.S. Education, has been a teacher for 40 years and has worked with preschool children for almost 30 of those years. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Warner School of Education and Human Development at University of Rochester where her areas of research interest are young children’s literacy development and the development of scientific argumentation in children’s discourse. She has worked with Dr. Lucia French for the last 15 years to develop the LiteraSci Curriculum beginning at the Third Church Head Start Demonstration Program and continuing through the work of the grants from the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education. Mrs. Conezio is a science consultant for the PBS program Sesame Street and is working to develop Sesame Street science programming for the People’s Republic of China. Currently Mrs. Conezio is working with classroom teachers in the local area to develop ScienceStart! Curriculum for kindergarten, first and second graders.
