Why is LiteraSci the best choice for my district?

In LiteraSci classrooms, many preschoolers have doubled their expected rate of vocabulary growth. Evaluation studies conducted as part of grants from the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education show children in LiteraSci classrooms make statistically significant improvement on standardized measures of language and literacy.

Will LiteraSci meet state standards?

LiteraSci integrates hands-on science with language arts and mathematics keyed to learning standards set by the AAAS, NCTM, NCTE/IRA and Head Start's Child Outcomes Framework. LiteraSci meets state standards that are based on the above.

How does the cost of LiteraSci compare to other curricula?

LiteraSci is competitively priced and in addition to science, supports the development of mathematics,  language and literacy.

LiteraSci
does not require expensive equipment and uses standard, easy to get supplies. Supplies for each module are also available for purchase.

What about English Language Learners?

Over the past 15 years, dozens of ELL children from all over the world have acquired English fluency during one year in a LiteraSci classroom.  LiteraSci hands-on science activities make it easy for teachers to include ELL children.  As the children observe and do science activities, the knowledge they are developing matches and supports understanding of the  English they are hearing.

What about Children with Disabilities?

Over the past 15 years, LiteraSci has been successfully used by children with disabilities in stand-alone special education classrooms, in integrated classrooms, and in a school designed for children with special needs.  The hands-on, open-ended activities allow all children to participate at their own level.  Children with autism have been particularly intrigued by the science activities.

Is training available for my staff?

LiteraSci offers professional development ranging from 2-hour workshops on specific aspects of the curriculum to a week-long immersion in all 5 modules. Ideally, professional development takes place several times over 18 months. Click here to see a model lesson.
